17 May 2012  Franz Beckenbauer and Dimitar Berbatov celebrate the jubilee with NSA The football legend Franz Beckenbauer, who is Doctor honoris causa of the National Sports Academy (NSA) attended the Celebration on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the higher school. “I am proud to be a part of the family of NSA,” Beckenbauer said. He received by the Rector Assoc. Prof. Pencho Geshev an honorary plaque with the jubilee logo of the Academy. “You have a lot of reasons to be proud of the history of your institution. It is full of significant achievements, added Beckenbauer in his thank-you speech. The famous Manchester United football player Dimitar Berbatov, who is a student of NSA, will also participate in the celebrations. He is expected to participate in the jubilee show called “Past, Present, Future” along with other Bulgarian sports stars. It will be held on 18th May in the largest hall of the National Palace of Culture, Sofia. On 17-19 May the Academy is hosting two international scientific congresses under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. In the opening speech Prof. Daniela Dasheva, President of the congresses and Vice Rector of NSA, marked the aims and the topics of the forums. Albena Micheva |
