Published on 17 December 2024 Prof. Dr. Eleonora Mileva, Senior Assist. Prof. Dr. Silvia Shandurkova, and Senior Assist. Prof. Dr. Iveta Bonova participated in a teaching mobility under the Erasmus+ programme at Mansoura University, Egypt, from December 2 to December 6, 2024. The visit was part of an approved academic mobility project between NSA and three partner universities from non-EU countries: Georgia, Egypt, and Russia (under the KA171 key activity). Mansoura University is the second-largest university in Egypt, consisting of 18 faculties. The preliminary organization of the mobility was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Wael Ramadan, the Erasmus Coordinator at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Prof. Mileva, Senior Assist. Prof. Shandurkova, and Senior Assist. Prof. Bonova were warmly welcomed by Dr. Marwa Hassan, Director of the International Office, Dr. Wael Awad, the coordinator of the agreement between Mansoura University and NSA, and Deputy Directors of the International Office Dr. Yusra Al-Far and Dr. Shadi Aouni. The NSA representatives were greeted by the Vice President of Mansoura University, who presented them with a special plaque in recognition of their contribution to international collaboration. The official meeting was attended by university leaders and lecturers who expressed their positive impressions of partnerships with Bulgarian universities. The NSA representatives were also warmly received by the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Azim, who presented them with honorary plaques for their contribution to the cooperation between the two institutions. Prof. Mileva, Senior Assist. Prof. Shandurkova, and Senior Assist. Prof. Bonova delivered lectures to undergraduate students in physical education: - Prof. Mileva presented key trends in Bulgaria's educational system, the role of physical education and sport as a school subject, university curricula for preparing and professionally qualifying physical education teachers, and career development opportunities for sports educators in Bulgaria.
- Senior Assist. Prof. Shandurkova's topics focused on hypothesis testing, parametric and non-parametric tests, and effect size indicators.
- Senior Assist. Prof. Bonova introduced various methods for conducting sports-pedagogical research.
The lectures and presentations generated lively interest, with numerous questions from students and lecturers. In a separate working meeting with the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, future collaboration and participation in joint project activities were discussed. Meetings with doctoral students from the Faculty of Physical Education were also held. The NSA representatives toured the extensive sports training and competition facilities of the Faculty, including two swimming pools (one Olympic-sized), gymnastics halls, basketball and handball courts, football fields, tennis courts, a squash court, and other sports facilities. They also visited the University's Information Center, Career Center, and the Mansourasource University Museum affiliated with the Faculty of Science, broadening and enriching their contacts with this educational institution. |
