NSA and PFC Levski Signed a Cooperation Agreement
Published on 28 March 2025 The National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" and the Professional Football Club "Levski" – Sofia signed a cooperation agreement during a meeting held on March 28 in the NSA Conference Hall. Discussions on future joint initiatives involved, on behalf of NSA, Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov, Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Hristo Andonov, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Assoc. Prof. Emil Atanasov, and Director of Administrative and Economic Activities Valentin Dobrev. PFC Levski was represented by Elin Topuzakov – Director of the Youth Academy of PFC Levski, and Bozhidar Mitrev – goalkeeper coach of the first team. Also taking part in the meeting were lecturers whose professional careers are closely connected to the development of Bulgarian football – Assoc. Prof. Grigor Gutev, Head of the Department of Athletics and conditioning coach at PFC Levski, and Senior Assistant Danail Ivanov from the Department of Football and Tennis, who is also a coach at the club’s Youth Academy. The meeting discussed the successful existing partnership between the two organizations, which includes key activities such as practical training at PFC Levski for NSA students from the “Football,” “Conditioning Training,” and “Sports Management” programs, as well as their athletic development. In turn, the Sports Academy will continue, through its Center for Scientific and Applied Activities in Sport (CSAAS), to conduct research on the functional fitness of PFC Levski football players. The CSAAS experts have for years actively supported athletes and coaches by providing professional assessments of players’ physical condition, along with guidance for targeted training and programs aimed at maintaining and improving physical performance and supporting recovery. The parties to the agreement committed to working together in the fields of competitive sports, research, and education. The agreement envisions participation with joint teams in the development of national and international research projects and programs, as well as other activities of mutual interest. |
