The Department of Gymnastics held its traditional scientific conference.

On October 25, 2024, the traditional scientific conference of the Department of Gymnastics was held at NSA "Vasil Levski." The head of the department, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Sergiev, and the deputy head of research, Assoc. Prof. Marina Petrova, welcomed the participants and guests, wishing them productive work.

The scientific forum was opened by Prof. Ognyan Miladinov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities, who expressed confidence that the conference’s tradition of presenting valuable studies would be upheld. Other guests included Assoc. Prof. Emil Atanasov, Dean of the Faculty of Sports; Assoc. Prof. Ivan Slavchev, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Sports; Assoc. Prof. Krastyo Zgurovski, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of OZZGT; and Assoc. Prof. Todor Marinov, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy.

Later, the Rector, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, joined the conference, congratulating the Department of Gymnastics on organizing the scientific forum and wishing all participants a successful presentation.

 The conference was held at a high scientific level, with discussions on the scientific and applied aspects of physical education, sports training, and adapted physical activity in gymnastic disciplines, among other topics.

Eleven reports and two posters were presented by 14 participants, including professors, PhD students, and students. The "Prof. Nikola Hadzhiev" award for the report with the highest scientific and applied value was awarded to Chief Assistant Emil Stoimenov and Assistant Veneta Hristova for their study on "Investigation of Dynamic Balance in 7-8-Year-Old Gymnasts."

All presented reports will be published in the Annual of NSA "Vasil Levski" – Issue 2/2024.
