Bachelor's and master's graduates received their diplomas at a ceremony at NSA, including some iconic athletes.

On October 29, 2024, nearly 300 bachelor's and master’s graduates of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" received their diplomas at an official ceremony in the Multipurpose Sports Hall.

The Rector of NSA, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, congratulated the graduates for their efforts and wished them success in their careers: "I congratulate you on your hard work and your achievements. Today marks the beginning of something new, as your education will lead you into a new stage of life and success," said Prof. Petkov. He expressed his gratitude to the graduates' families for their support throughout their studies.

As is tradition, representatives of Bulgaria's sports elite were among the graduates, with the Rector personally awarding diplomas to each of the iconic athletes. These included Olympic silver medalist in rhythmic gymnastics Boryana Kaleyn, Olympic bronze medalist in double kayak Milko Kazanov, world and European champion in canoe-kayak Staniliya Stamenova, Bulgaria's most successful fencer Yoana Ilieva, national record-holder in swimming disciplines Gabriela Georgieva, European wrestling champion Alexander Kostadinov, volleyball players Teodor Salparov and Andrey Zhekov, and football players Darko Tasevski, Nikolay Mihaylov, Svetoslav Stefanov, and Lachezar Baltanov, as well as European taekwondo silver medalist Dayana Boyadjieva.

The highest-achieving graduates also received their diplomas from Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov. In the Faculty of Sports, the top graduates were Minko Donevski in "Tourism - Mountaineering" and Ivona Sultova in "Sports Management" (5.74 GPA). In the Faculty of Pedagogy, Darina Chimeva graduated with the highest GPA (5.91), while in the Faculty of Public Health, Health Care, and Tourism, Simona Milenova graduated with a 5.84 GPA in "Kinesitherapy."

Among those graduating with a master’s degree with full honors were: Marina Terziyska and Spasiana Grigorova in the "Sports Psychology" program; Denitsa Altuncheva in "Physical Education and Sports"; and Mirela Ilieva and Krasimira Petkova in "Youth Activities and Sports." The highest GPA in the master's "Kinesitherapy" program was achieved by Martin Dimitrov (5.94).

The ceremony was hosted by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Hristo Andonov, and the diplomas were awarded by the deans and vice-deans: Assoc. Prof. Emil Atanasov and Assoc. Prof. Ivan Slavchev from the Faculty of Sports; Assoc. Prof. Vera Antonova and Assoc. Prof. Todor Marinov from the Faculty of Pedagogy; and Prof. Nikolay Popov and Assoc. Prof. Krastyo Zgurovski from the Faculty of Public Health, Health Care, and Tourism.

Some elite athletes were unable to attend due to other commitments, including basketball player Aleksandar Vezenkov, three-time European badminton doubles champion Stefani Stoeva, and European biathlon champion Vladimir Iliev.
