A delegation from a partner Albanian university visited NSA
Published on 17 October 2024 A meeting was held at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" between Prof. Krasimir Petkov, rector of NSA, and Prof. Skender Topi, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at the University of Elbasan (Albania) and a member of the university’s Board of Trustees. The meeting was a continuation of the established partnership between the two universities, formalized by an academic cooperation agreement from February of this year. Prof. Petkov presented the priorities of the National Sports Academy in the current economic conditions in Europe and the Balkans. Both parties expressed agreement on the need for more active rapprochement between the academic communities of the Balkan countries. Prof. Skender Topi emphasized that internationalization is among the main strategic goals of the University of Elbasan, not only in light of the upcoming accession to the EU but also considering the administration's desire to elevate the institution to the ranks of recognized European universities. He shared, quoting the common opinion of the university's leadership: "Sports science is a very important area of development for us. Therefore, the National Sports Academy is an extremely valuable and desired partner." Prof. Petkov praised the excellent performance of Albanian doctoral students who completed their doctoral studies at NSA and expressed willingness to expand these connections, allowing for even more specific opportunities for scientific exchange. Immediately before the meeting, the representatives of the Albanian delegation: Prof. Topi, Ardian Durmishi - member of the Board of Directors, Assoc. Prof. Edmond Bichoku, Assoc. Prof. Arjan Hika, and Mr. Dritan Konika, held discussions with Prof. Ognyan Miladinov - Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs at NSA. |
