The National Sports Academy and the Bulgarian Athletics Federation renewed their cooperation agreement and joint activities with the signatures of the rector of NSA, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, and the chairman of the BFAL, Ivan Kolev.

The meeting was attended by the academy's vice-rectors, Assoc. Prof. Hristo Andonov, Prof. Ognyan Miladinov, and Prof. Daniela Lyubenova, the head of the "Athletics" department at NSA, Assoc. Prof. Grigor Gutev, and the sports director of BFAL, Diyan Drashkov.

“Working with federations is a priority for the National Sports Academy, as they are our partners in sports competition and research activities. Our commitment to athletics is evident in what we have built,” emphasized Rector Prof. Petkov, referring to the academy's strategic priorities.

The successful collaboration between NSA and BFAL has a rich history, to which several large-scale projects for the complete modernization of athletics facilities in the academy have been added in recent years. Among them are the renovations of the throwing stadium (in a joint project with BFAL and the Ministry of Youth and Sports), the indoor athletics track, the training stadium, and more.

Both institutions expressed mutual satisfaction with the good partnership and confidence in the excellent prospects for its enhancement. An important part of the successful interaction is the support from the NSA's "Athletics" department in providing coaching staff and qualified judges. Faculty members from the department are members of the Judging Committee in BFAL, and students from the program are the "driving force" behind all official events in BFAL's calendar.

Opportunities for joint initiatives were discussed, such as conducting seminars for coaches, organizing discussion and scientific forums on current issues in athletics, participation in applied research projects, and more.
