The top Bulgarian athlete of the past year – Bozhidar Saraboyukov, will study at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski". The athlete, who will compete in the long jump at the Paris Olympic Games, is enrolled in the first year, specializing in "Track and Field Coach". Also starting as first-year students at the Sports Academy are the top swimmer and top wrestler of the country for 2023 – respectively, Petar Mitsin and Semen Novikov. With Saraboyukov, the symbolic NSA team for the Olympics now includes 17 athletes out of a total of 46 Bulgarian competitors at the games.

The 19-year-old talent was born in Harmanli and trains with Dimitar Karamfilov. In 2022, Saraboyukov won a bronze medal in the high jump at the World Youth Championships in Cali. Last year, he returned with two silver medals (long jump and triple jump) from the European U20 Championships in Jerusalem. This summer, in his first season among the men, Bozhidar finished sixth in the long jump at the European Championship in Rome.
