The project "We bike together" is led by the Fondazione per lo Sport Silvia Rinaldi of Italy with partners from Spain, Portugal and Bulgaria. It focuses on promoting volunteering in sport, social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of physical activity. It aims to increase the interest in sport for all, and in particular for people with physical disabilities, who have difficulty practicing sports, with a particular focus on cycling by using different types of bicycles adapted for disabled people handbikes and tandem.

In their first meeting, the partners in this project united on the idea that people with physical and mental disabilities have a much lesser chance of doing sports and thus taking care of their health. Also, they need a special environment and sports equipment, as well as people to help them. In this regard, it was decided that each partner country would trace five bicycle routes for handbikes and / or tandem bicycles and train volunteers to help people with disabilities to ride these types of bicycles.

Partners in the project "We bike together" are Fondazione per lo Sport from Italy, Play & Train from Spain, Agueda Municipality - Portugal and NSA "Vassil Levski". At their first meeting in Sant Feliu de Guixols, Spain, they all joined, along with people with disabilities and volunteers, on the Ruta del Carrilet bicycle route (27 km from San Filial to Casa de la Sofia).

The project is co-funded by the Erasmus + Program of the European Commission and will be implemented within two years.
